Face Painting with Abracadabra Body Paint

We had a few confused looking parents at pick up time yesterday afternoon as they tried to identify their newly transfromed children courtesy of Debbie from Abracadabra Body Paint

As you can see below, her face paint and tattoo creations were truly a work of art, so much so that we had a tough time choosing which pictures to post.  Here are just a few of the amazing creations.

Music with Ms. Joanne (Thursday March 2, 2017)

On Thursday the Kinders had Ms. Joanne come for our first music class. Ms. Joanne is a music therapist and will be joining both the morning and afternoon Kinders each week for a 45 minute class.

Ms. Joanne brought some instruments for the children to learn about, some props and taught us some new songs. The children were very excited about Ms. Joanne's guitar, and are looking forward to being able to strum it in the coming classes.

Stress Relief

The children were offered an opportunity to make homemade stress balls after Nathan had expressed that he would like to make one earlier this month.  Using balloons, flours and glue the children stuffed their balloons with the squishy mixture using funnels, pencils and the tool they found most useful, thier fingers.

"It feels amazing"

"I stuck my finger in to push it down"

"Mine feels like a stress ball!"

"It feels squishy."

As the activity wrapped up a few of the children began to specualte about other acitivites that they could do that would be similar to making stress balls.  They thought that making slime and home made bean bags would be other fun sensory experiences.

Maybe we'll have to try those out next time.
