Fort Whyte

Yesterday we took a trip to Fort Whyte Alive to learn about the changes in nature during the different seasons and how to survive if you were ever lost while on an outdoor adventure.

The humane society

Today the Theatre group had a visit from a sweet girl named Lola and her friend Richard from the humane society.

Richard talked to the children all about what the humane society does to help animals in Winnipeg and the proper way to greet an animal that you don't know.

The children were curious about how they could help animals like Lola and he spoke to them about things like volunteering and fundraising... and then we all got to play with a puppy!

If we could adopt a dog for the centre, I believe it would be Lola.

Dartpocalypse

Yesterday afternoon our school agers had a visit from Dartpocalypse, which in case you didn't know is a giant nerf gun battle.

Needless to say it took no convincing for everyone to join in the fun (teacher's included). It was what seemed like a much needed release of some pent up frustrations as it appeared that many of the children had their sights set on particular people.

Ok, basically they were just aiming at the staff.

Not to worry, we're all still friends.

Across the Board

If you have never been to Across the Board Game Cafe on Bannatyne, you are missing out!  Our School Age children took a trip to this incredible establishment on Thursday and boy did we have a good time.

I was a real walk down memory lane for some of the teachers and an opportunity to teach the kids some of the classics that we grew up with.  The room was buzzing with excitement and even after we left the kids were still talking about all of the games that they had played.

This will be an annual trip for sure!

Boston Pizza

The Kinders headed over to Boston Pizza this week to learn a little bit about nutrition, how food is grown and of course making pizza!

We met John at Boston Pizza on Pembina Highway who took us on a tour of the restaurant and helped us to make our super yummy pizzas.

After our tummy's were all full, we said good-bye to John and headed back to Bonnycastle on the city bus.

Our Kinders had a pretty great adventure this week!
