AM Kinders treasure hunt
"Treasure! Treasure! This is my special treasure!" Our morning Kinders have been talking about their own treasures a lot. So we decided to have a special treasure hunt.
We started our adventure with making our own gold and hiding them in our secret place, Blue Lake Park.
After we coming back from our secret place, our Kinders decided to make their own treasure maps and treasure islands.
The children started to mention pirates in their treasure hunt story. So we froze pirate's treasures in ice.
Since we found the pirate's secret treasures, the children wanted to make pirate ships to take the treasures back to their islands.
Yo ho ho, a pirate's life for us!
All About Tooth
Most of our kinders started to talk about wiggling teeth and losing teeth every day, especially at lunchtime. So, I thought it might be a good time to introduce dental education to the children.
We started by making our teeth with construction paper mini marshmallows. One child asked for a mirror and I asked why. She said that she wanted to see how many teeth she has and what they looked like. So, we provided each child with a mirror. They opened their mouth wide and counted: 1, 2, 3...
The next day, we talked about happy teeth and sad teeth. The children cut out some food pictures from the flyers and we sorted out what kind of food makes a tooth happy and what kind of food makes a tooth sad. We also made a big tooth with cardboards and pretended to brush and floss the tooth.
On Friday 7th June, we had a special visitor named Sly who is a Dental Hygienist. She talked to the children about oral hygiene. She showed us how to brush and floss our teeth and how to keep our teeth healthy. The children had so much fun learning about their little teeth.
