Avaition Museum

Today we went to The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada.  First the children toured the hangar and even got to board one of the original Air Canada planes that flew out of Winnipeg.

After the tour, the children participated in groups to design and create their own airplane.  They worked hard cutting and taping and came up with some pretty well designed planes.

After lunch, we had some extra time to explore the museum.  We found a play area on the second floor however most of the children spent the rest of their time on the flight deck watching planes land and take off.

Assiniboine Zoo and Nature Playground

Last week we headed out to the Zoo and Nature Playground.  We arrived early enough to be able to see some of the animals in action such as the polar bears and the tigers.  We walked with dinosaurs and got to see a special exhibit of sea creatures from the Vancouver aquarium.

The younger children spent the day at the Nature Playground playing, sliding and swinging and keeping cool in the water features.

Human Rights Museum

The Resource Room and Mini Gym children took a tour of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.  They were taught about the basic human rights that all people entitled to and taken on walk through the museum to explore a few of the galleries.

We had some extra time at the end of our tour so a few of our children decided to hike all the way up to the 8th floor for a photo op.

Boston Pizza

We had quite an adventure with the theatre group.  We took the city bus to Boston Pizza where the owner, Jon taught the children all about what happens behind the scenes at a restaurant.

And then on to the good stuff...

And boy was it good!
