On Tuesday morning we had a dance party in the Big Gym. Later that day, we had a nature themed scavenger hunt. We went for a short walk in the community and found items on our list.
On Wednesday morning we did a taste testing experiment and discovered that different areas of our tongues taste different types of foods. It was a hot day so we cooled down at the spray pad for the afternoon!
On Thursday we went on a field trip to the Assiniboine Park Nature Playground. While we were there we also visited the Sculpture Garden. Yvonne pointed out some lily pads in the fountain and shared with us that her Chinese name is héhé which means 'water lily'!
Today we had a multicultural scavenger hunt. Our staff each represented a country they identify with and the children visited each of them to do an activity and receive a stamp in their 'passport'. The activities were inspired by the culture within each country. Activities included learning greetings in Chinese and Ojibway, throat singing, Pysanky egg colouring and learning a Punjabi dance called Bhangra.
